Magic City Choral Society
"a voice in song for our community"

About Us

The Magic City Choral Society has been founded to foster excellence in choral music performance, choral education, and entertainment within the Greater Birmingham Metro Area. In addition, it's membership seeks to honor a great and rich diversity among human beings. Therefore, we invite anyone to come and be part of this Choral Society. Membership is not contingent upon race, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, or age. We too will model the best practices of nondiscrimination like other non-profit and for-profit corporations who do as well.

It is the belief of the Artistic Director and Founder, Joseph Paul Dease, that the human condition is elevated when people from all walks of life, religious backgrounds, cultures, and political affiliations come together and work to do what no single human being can do alone - here it is choral ensemble performance. This model we hope to promote, and in so doing, contribute not only to the artistic fabric of this great community, but to issues of social justice and equality.

In the coming days we will be filing our 501(c)3 paper with the IRS and seeking to affiliate with GALA (Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses). In addition, we will be accepting donations on this web site.
